Our Story

Inity Acoustics started in 2012 with $100 (most of it borrowed), a friend’s jigsaw, and a desire to upgrade the sound quality of Inity Studios (the studio I started in 2009 and was running out of my apartment at the time) before recording a family friend whose great sounding voice and guitar deserved the justice of a proper recording environment.

As I wrote when reflecting on the startup just two weeks after making our first panels,

“I think the best business ideas come out of solving a problem you have, and then providing your solution as a product or service to others. But at the time [I started this] I wasn’t thinking about business, I was thinking about making a great sounding recording.”

Today, Inity Acoustics products not only facilitate great sounding recordings by world-class artists from Canada and abroad, but are also used in countless studios and theaters (home and commercial), hi-fi listening rooms, corporate offices, schools, places of worship, and many other rooms around Canada and the United States where sound quality matters.
